Point 1: Color Consistency
Finished product color must match the sample, to a standard of being indistinguishable to the naked eye. During inspection, the finished product is placed next to the sample; any visible color difference results in a fail.
Point 2: Surface Glue Residue
Water-based adhesive is used throughout. For laminated surfaces, no glue residue is permitted. For uncoated, bare-paper surfaces, minor glue marks are permitted but must not be prominent, and must never appear on the front face of the box.
Point 3: Structural Strength
The packaging must support the weight of the product — a baseline requirement. Under normal use conditions (excluding deliberate abuse), the packaging must not sustain structural damage.
Point 4: Printing, Material, and Component Consistency
Printed graphics, paper stock, and all components (ribbons, magnetic closures, handles, etc.) must match specifications confirmed on the approved sample.
Point 5: Outer Shipping Carton Standard
A reinforced three-layer corrugated carton is used as standard. Heavier shipments require additional reinforcement, with particular attention to corner protection.
Point 6: Dimensional Tolerance
Actual dimensions of the box and its components must stay within a reasonable tolerance range, to avoid assembly difficulty or misalignment.
Point 7: Structural and Functional Testing
Crease lines must remain crisp with no cracking; the box must open and close smoothly. Products with hardware — magnetic closures, ribbons, handles — are tested repeatedly to confirm secure fixation that doesn't loosen with repeated use.
Point 8: Odor Testing
Packaging in close contact with consumers — food gift boxes, jewelry, and similar items — must not carry any noticeable off-odor.
Point 9: Sampling Method
Sample size and pass/fail thresholds per batch are determined using the industry-standard AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit) method.
